Print a clear opening hours sign for your shop door or window. This free store hours sign maker lays out the week, joins days that keep the same hours, and adds holidays and special dates below. Start with the fictional sample, replace the hours and print.
Make an opening hours sign
- Enter the business name and choose a headline: Opening hours, Store hours, Holiday hours or Special hours.
- Set the hours for each day, or mark a day closed. Days next to each other with the same hours share one line, such as Monday – Thursday.
- Add holidays, early closing or temporary hours as dated rows, open or closed.
- Choose 12-hour times such as 9 am – 5:30 pm, or 24-hour times such as 09:00 – 17:30, and whether the week starts on Monday or Sunday.
- Add a short note and your website or phone number if you want them on the sign.
- Pick an accent color and the paper, then print.
For a holiday-only notice, turn off the weekly hours and list just the dates. A closing time earlier than the opening time means the shop closes after midnight.
Holiday hours signs
Put holiday hours up a week or two before the first changed day, and take the sign down when the dates pass. List every changed date with its name, so customers do not have to work out which day is which. Update your hours on your website and online listings at the same time, since many customers check there first.
Print and display the sign
The sign prints on one Letter or A4 page. In the print dialog choose the same paper, set the scale to 100% or actual size and turn off headers and footers. A sign facing the street lasts longer behind the glass or in a plastic sleeve. Check that the hours are readable from a few steps back before you fix it in place.
Save the sign as a file to reopen it on this page later and change only the dates for the next holiday. You can also download the hours as plain text to paste into a website or social post.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make a store hours sign without an account?
Yes. The maker opens with an editable sample and works without a login or email address. Nothing you type is uploaded.
Can I show only holiday hours?
Yes. Turn off the weekly hours and add the dates. The sign then lists only the special dates under your headline.
Can I save the sign and edit it later?
Save the sign as a file and open it on this page later. The draft is held only in this browser tab: it survives a refresh, and closing the tab clears it.
