Help center / Account and data
Open Logs to view the selected business's recorded workspace changes. Logs uses the Settings & logs screen grant and also requires access to all operational workspace data. If that access is missing, the page explains how to ask an owner or administrator for it.
Find an entry
- Check the selected business, then open Logs.
- Use Search business history to search the text of an entry, including a name if it appears there.
- Set From date and To date to narrow the results. Both dates are included.
- Choose Newest first or Oldest first under Order.
- Choose Show more history to load up to 50 more entries. During a text search, use Search more history to keep looking through the remaining records. A batch can have no matches even when more history is available.
- Use Reload history to see newly saved changes. Clear filters returns to the newest entries without a search or date range.
Times and date filters use your device's time zone, which is shown above the list. From date must be on or before To date. Changing a filter or order starts the search again. The status tells you whether more history is available or all matching history has loaded.
What the history can tell you
An entry describes a saved operational change and its time. New entries include the signed-in person and the action description, such as the product or planogram being changed. Older entries may still show broad permission categories. Logs does not provide field-by-field comparisons or an undo button.
For quantities and references, use Stock activity in Inventory or the Sales log in Sales. Work, people, messages and billing are saved separately and are not a complete part of this workspace history.
Retention and exports
Older entries remain available in Logs as new changes are saved. A portable workspace JSON export contains only the latest 2,000 entries; the owner's business ZIP export includes all retained workspace history in the separate history list in business.json. Entries already removed before longer history was introduced cannot be recovered by this change. A search with no results does not prove that an action never happened.
Workspace history is not a tamper-proof audit record. An authorized recovery can replace operational history, and downloaded files can be edited. For a dated copy of the currently retained records, use an available data export in Settings. It cannot recover entries that are no longer retained.
For failed saves or conflicting versions, see troubleshooting.
