Days of supply calculator for stock
Estimate how long current units would last at a chosen daily sales average.
Formula and worked example
Units on hand ÷ average units sold per day.
Illustrative example: 84 units on hand ÷ 6 units a day = 14 days.
Before you use the result
- Count usable stock in the location scope you are planning. Incoming orders are excluded unless you deliberately model a future position.
- A zero daily average has no finite result. It may mean no demand, missing records or unavailable stock; investigate before making a buying decision.
- The result assumes the average continues. It is not a forecast of promotions, seasonality, delivery dates or product expiry.
